Question about LDAP problem

Carnes, Jim

I have a distribution list that goes to a list similar to
name/[hidden email]

ASSP is seeing the mail as [hidden email] only.  It doesn't
see the "name/"  I'm assuming this has to do with the / character in the
name.  I didn't set the email address up and they are pretty stuck on
using it.  Is there a way to have ASSP correctly view the full email
address?

Jim

Re: Question about LDAP problem

I wouldn't recommend using a slash for a few different reasons - but
it should work (it doesn't violate RFC822).  ASSP must not have been
coded to take the slash into consideration.

But again, I would recommend against its use.  Here is a good
cheat-sheet of characters and issues you might encounter:

RE: Question about LDAP problem

Carnes, Jim
In reply to this post by Carnes, Jim
Yea I hate the idea of it.  In the short term I've just added a second
email address to the distribution list without the /.  My predecessor
allowed email addresses with characters that, while not violating RFC,
it certainly complicates things.

Thanks for getting back to me.

ASSP is handling such adresses quiet well. If you use the

In reply to this post by Carnes, Jim

I am not sure if I can be of any help, but someone else might have some
suggestions. Can you expound a little and provide some more information.
Is it that ASSP is identifyng it as SPAM or is it not being delivered?
Or are you trying to add it to no processing? Or red list?

corpus cleanup

Bill Christensen
In reply to this post by Carnes, Jim
I've recently discovered that we've got a bunch of Paypal and Ebay
spoofs poisoning our notspam corpus.

Has anyone written a script to find a particular word/phrase/regex
and move matching files to another directory?

Of course, i'll patch the hole too.

What version are you on Fritz?

I am on 1.1.1 Final.

This version of ASSP won't recognize any of the following before the @
symbol in an email address.  ")(][/

Assp only recognizes the characters that appear after any one of those.

ASSP is handling such adresses quiet well. If you use the

ASSP is handling such adresses quiet well. If you use the
email-interface to add such an address you will get:

name/[hidden email]: added to whitelist

if you remove it via email-interface you will get:

name/[hidden email]: deleted from whitelist

You should upgrade. 1.1.2 is much better. Even in beta it is absolut
stable.
